Refund Policy

We stand behind our product. If you're not satisfied, we'll make it right. Here's exactly how our refund process works.

1. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

All new paid subscriptions (Pro and Team plans) are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of the initial payment date. No questions asked.

To request a refund under our money-back guarantee, email support@researchai.app within 14 days of your first charge with the subject line "Refund Request." Include your account email and order number (found in your invoice).

2. Subscription Renewals

After the 14-day guarantee period, subscription payments are generally non-refundable for the current billing period. However, we will issue a refund for renewal charges if:

  • You contact us within 48 hours of a renewal charge and have not used the Service since the renewal
  • There was a technical error or billing issue on our end
  • We materially reduced the functionality of your plan without adequate notice

3. Annual Plan Refunds

For annual subscriptions:

  • Full refund available within 14 days of initial payment
  • Pro-rated refund for unused months may be issued at our discretion after 14 days
  • To request a pro-rated refund on an annual plan, contact our support team — we evaluate these on a case-by-case basis

4. Non-Refundable Items

The following are not eligible for refunds:

  • One-time add-ons or credit purchases after they have been consumed
  • Subscription fees after the 14-day period where service was actively used
  • Fees for professional services or custom integrations (billed separately)
  • Charges resulting from violations of our Terms of Service

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  • Email support@researchai.app with subject "Refund Request"
  • Include your account email address and order/invoice number
  • Briefly describe the reason for your request (optional, but helps us improve)
  • We will respond within 2 business days
Refunds are processed through Paddle, our payment processor, and typically appear in your account within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.

6. Chargebacks

We ask that you contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account while the dispute is being resolved. We are always happy to resolve billing issues directly and quickly.

7. Plan Downgrades and Cancellations

You may cancel or downgrade your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will not be charged again, and you retain access to paid features until the period ends.

Downgrading from an annual to a monthly plan will take effect at the next renewal date. We do not offer partial refunds for mid-cycle downgrades.

8. Service Outages

If Burhan Niaz experiences a significant service outage (defined as more than 4 hours of platform unavailability within a billing month), affected users may be eligible for a service credit equivalent to the downtime, pro-rated against their monthly subscription fee. Service credits are applied to future bills and are not paid out as cash refunds.
